I was happy when I finally printed off the IKEA publication I had been designing for my uni graduation projects. It is called Berättelsen om IKEA, this is the Swedish translation of ‘The Story of IKEA’. It’s design intention is to make the story behind the founding of IKEA more appealing to read, as well as to highlight the Swedish heritage and traditions that are always a very big part of the IKEA business concept, design, and furniture. I feel that this is very important to know and understand this story, which most of the customer’s don’t really realise. Therefore, it is an informative but attractively designed booklet that would hopefully entice customers to read and thus learn about some of the background of IKEA. It is also an important part of history an development for any business person, or designer, so it aims to attract to creatives too.
Ideally it would be printed on double sided glossy paper, but with my student budget I couldn’t find any of this and had to purchase some single sided glossy paper instead, but for now it works just as well.
